Allergy Awareness and Gluten Free Menu Items

Gluten Free Allergy Aware intiative graphic Gluten Free, Allergy Aware

Concerns about ingredients due to food allergies or other special needs are common these days. We take food allergies very seriously and train our servers to answer any questions with regard to any possible allergens in our dishes or other concerns that our customers may have. We pride ourselves on our in-depth knowledge of all the ingredients that are used in our menus. We have compiled a list of our dishes that are gluten-free for our customer's convenience. All of our restaurants also serve at least one brand of gluten-free beer (such as Redbridge) and Magners Irish Cider.

All of us at the Irish Restaurant Copany understand the love of beer and how hard it would be to have a gluten allergy and not be able to enjoy a delicious craft beer. This is why we offer St. Peter's Gluten Free Beer. St. Peter's offers a clean, crisp gluten free ale with a pilsner lager style finish and aromas of citrus and mandarin from American Amarillo hops. We are proud to serve one of the finest gluten free beers available.

Rhino Environmental Solutions graphic Rhino Environmental Solutions—Wet Waste Filtration System

We use the The Rhino Wet Waste Filtration System because it is a simple but highly effective device which filters out most of the organic solid matter before it enters the grease trap. By doing so, we prevent the organic material (food particles) from accumulating in the grease traps. As a result, the grease traps become more effective in separating the oil and grease from the water. Tons of solid waste are prevented from reaching municipal water treatment plants.

Greener Results graphic Greener Results

We've teamed up with Greener Results, a green consultant agency, to achieve greener results in all of our facilities, operations, service offerings, products, and overall image. With the guidance of Greener Results we are committed to making a greener impact on the environment and we are proud to be a part of their success in achieving and promoting greener results.

Maryland Green Travel graphic Maryland Green Travel

Much like Sustainable Annapolis, Maryland Green Travel is a program we've participated in to reduce the environmental impact of Maryland's tourism industry. The program helps us evaluate our procedures, set our goals and take specific actions towards environmental sustainability.

Sustainable Annapolis graphic Sustainable Annapolis

Over the past few years we've teamed up with Sustainable Annapolis, which is a program dedicated to making Annapolis a sustainable and carbon neutral city. Together we work on goals and ideas gathered from the public, detailing how we can become a sustainable community.

Local, Sustainable, Food Sources

Choptank Oysters graphic Choptank Oysters

We offer oysters from The Choptank Oyster Company for many of our special events when they are the freshest and most readily available. The oysters are raised by a local commercial aquaculture company with a mission to produce a high quality oyster that is healthier for the consumer, while also helping to improve the health of the Chesapeake Bay.

Sysco Eastern Shore

We have been a long time partner of Sysco Eastern Shore (formerly Lankford) and have continued to support them as our major provisions provider over the last 14 years that we have been in business. Even though they are considered a large distribution company we are confident that we have selected the right partner because of their commitment not only to sourcing us locally grown produce which contributes to the success of smaller, local farms and producers. But that they also listen to our changing requirements and make the commitment to make the changes as our consumers change. Sysco Eastern Shore have made huge advances in sustainability as a company from energy conservation, only providing safer detergents, efficient delivery systems, emissions reduction, providing sustainable non-food products and taking advantage of new technology to reduce their carbon footprint on the environment.

Belair Produce

As our daily produce supplier we are happy to have Belair Produce who continually source for us local farmed produce. We have developed a system with them that moves around their local supply chain as the seasons change providing us with the best locally grown in season vegetables and dairy products that we can use.

Eco-Products, Inc. is a company much like us, dedicated to conducting business in an environmentally and socially responsible manner. Their business philosophy is protective of the environment and mindful of the impact it has on the lives of our employees and their communities.

We proudly use Eco-Products for all of our take out needs. Their unique and sustainable products are made from corn starches, sugar cane and offers a 100 percent compostable alternative to conventional tree-based paper products; rather than the more traditionally used plastic and Styrofoam products. Planet Fry graphic Planet Fry

We find it very satisfying to take the opportunity to help save the environment while returning financial resources. With Planet Fry, all of our wasted vegetable oil is used in the production of bio-diesel fuel. The conversion of waste vegetable oil (WVO) into bio-fuel lessens American dependence on fossil oil and reduces greenhouse emissions.

Sustainable Energy

Clean Currents - A Different Kind of Energy Company

Irish Restaurant Company is a proud partner of Clean Currents based in Rockville Maryland. Clean Currents is a sustainably operated business, recognized as a "certified green businesses" by the Montgomery County Green Business Certification Program.

Clean Currents is also the first and only energy company in the state of Maryland to be a certified B Corporation and classified as a Benefit LLC - incorporating their commitment to the environment and our community into their legal corporate structure. This is the type of company that the Irish Restaurant Company is proud to support.

Clean Currents provides electricity generated by 100% wind power to all of our restaurants at rates that are often LOWER than rates through the local utility. Clean Currents made it easy for us as a business to switch to clean, affordable wind power. Choosing Clean Currents as your electricity provider is one of the easiest things you can do to help reduce your business or organization's carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
